Revenue Management Section

Description

The Revenue Management section of the Shelter CLOUD web office is designed to dynamically manage prices for the services of the accommodation facility. In fact, it is a price management system during the period of discounts and promotions. It also allows you to reduce the price depending on the occupancy of the hotel without having to edit the base rate. Access to the Revenue Management section is provided through the left menu of the Shelter CLOUD web office.

For the purposes of working in the Revenue Management section, tariffs are divided into two main types:

  • a basic tariff, i.e. a tariff that always remains the same; and

  • the target tariff, i.e. the one that includes a discounted price or a mark-up from the prices of the base tariff.

To work in the Revenue Management section, you need to create a basic tariff in the Tariffs and Prices menu. This tariff will then be used as the basis for creating additional tariffs that already include a discount.

For information on how to create a tariff, see the article "How to add a tariff".

After the tariff has been created, a composite tariff will appear in the Revenue Management section.

How to work with a composite tariff

A compound tariff is a tariff consisting of two parts: the basic cost of the service of the accommodation facility and an additional part. At the same time, the additional part may include not only additional services, such as breakfast, half-board meals, bicycle rental, etc., but also a discount or surcharge on accommodation services.

How to create a target pricing plan

  1. After the composite tariff appears, you need to create another tariff in the Tariffs and Prices section, for example, the base 10%. This is the target tariff, which includes a discount (or surcharge) from the prices of the base tariff. In the future, it is this tariff that will be used to change the price of certain room categories on certain dates.

  2. After the target tariff is created, copy the prices from the base tariff to it. To do this, follow these steps:

  • In the Tariffs and Prices menu, open the basic tariff.

  • Go to the List of prices for this tariff.

  • In the window that opens, click Copy with the change.

  • In the new window, go to the In tariff field and select the tariff to which the prices will be copied.

  • In the New Price field, specify the percentage of the price of the first tariff that will be copied to the new tariff, for example, 90% for a discount or 115% for a surcharge.

  • Click the Copy button.

How to set up a target pricing plan

To set up a target pricing plan:

  1. Go to the Revenue Management section and click Settings.

  2. In the window that opens, select which of the previously created tariffs are basic. Here you can also choose the color of the display of the tariff that is specified as the base one. To change the display color, click on the default color field in the Tariff Color column.

  3. In the same window, you can change the percentage of low, medium, and high downloads. By default, the low load percentage is specified as from 0 to 50%, medium — from 50 to 80% and high — from 80 to 100%.

The aboutt field in the %low load line and the up field in the %high load line are not editable.

The color display of the load percentage makes it easy to take into account the occupancy of the booking facility on the selected date and suggest the appropriate booking rates. For example, during the period of high occupancy of the booking facility, add discounted fares, and during the period of low occupancy, add discounted fares.

How to provide a discount for certain dates using a targeted tariff

  1. To change the price for a particular room category, for example, to give guests a 10% discount, go back to the Revenue Management section and click Edit Rate.

  2. In the Edit Rate window that opens, click All Categories to display all available room categories.

  3. Select dates in the calendar, select the tariff that will be applied to them on the selected dates from the list of room categories, and click Apply. Thus, the discount will apply to the selected room category on the specified dates, and the color-coded rates set for the selected room category will be displayed on the Revenue Management screen.
