The Shelter team took part in the profile forum Hospitality Business Day, which took place in early April in St. Petersburg and brought together the best industry experts, hoteliers and representatives of the hotel community.
The event took place at the Park Inn by Radisson Pribaltiyskaya. Dozens of thematic specialized presentations, hundreds of managers, owners and managers of various departments of hotels of various levels and geography - all in order to productively exchange experience and answer the main question - what are the trends of the hospitality industry in the foreseeable future?
Shelter CEO Alexey Lebedev made a presentation at the DIGITAL DAY forum session, during which he expressed his vision of the main trends in the hotel business.
"The changing world around us has long and finally put all of us in front of an obvious fact - in order to meet the realities and firmly stand in the hotel business, the hotelier needs to adapt standards and working methods," Alexey Lebedev said.
Personalization has already become a key factor in effective communication and, as a result, sales and loading of hotels. It is not so much the use of OTA channels as direct bookings that are the most commercially effective tool today. The freedom of communication with the guest may be limited by the capabilities of the PMS, which is used in the hotel, and may obviously affect the increase in income.
"Conducting an audit of the capabilities of the hotel automation system is the first step to review the interaction with guests and make it more productive, including financially," said the head of Shelter.
The interconnectedness of interests is what moves the IT sphere today and determines the vector of activity of such giants as Beac, MTS, Yandex. Prime from Sber, Premium from MTS, Plus from Yandex - all these are examples that can be described in one term - ecosystem.
The ecosystem of hotel tools - information and technical "inventory" with the ability to account for a variety of business processes inside the hotel - is what Shelter has become today, having made its way from a stationary hotel automation program with the basic function of maintaining a check-in list.
"One of the significant advantages of our company's hotel IT solutions, such as Shelter PMS and Cloud, is the widest integration possibilities of areas adjacent to hotels, which are not available to many developers of hotel automation systems in Russia," Alexey Lebedev said.
The IT tools of the Shelter ecosystem allow today, within the framework of a single supplier, to cover all the needs of any hotel and restaurant complex in a comprehensive manner.
